SubSonic .17 Over-Barrel
Most of the noise produced by firing a .17 caliber rifle comes from the impact of the bullet as the projectile travels through the air at high speed. You don't need a lot of silencer to suppress the noise of the gunpowder itself, and this extended version of our SubSonic .17 silencer packs a lot of volume into the silencer. At the same time, it provides more stability to the muffler as it descends over the pipe.
When the muffler descends over the pipe, we use the same steel parts as in other downpipe mufflers. This means both greater resistance to gunpowder gases and the fact that the thread of the silencer is cut in steel instead of aluminum.
Brass insert
To make the SubSonic .17 silencer especially resistant to the amount of gunpowder in the .17 HMR and .17 Hornet, the SubSonic .17 muffler has a special 1st module. This module has a brass insert that protects the aluminum parts from coming into contact with the flames that result from burning gunpowder. This significantly increases the life of the muffler.
The SubSonic .17 silencers are specially made for the .17 caliber and therefore only fit 4.5mm projectiles.
In terms of gunpowder volume, the SubSonic 17 easily handles both the .17 HMR and the .17 Hornet.

MAINTENANCE
- Always allow the muffler to dry before storing.
- Clean the muffler as needed using only oil and a cloth.
- WD40 or similar can be sprayed into the back of the tube before assembly and after disassembly. Especially if the muffler is used in wet weather.
- Avoid using alkaline cleaners, ultrasonic cleaners, or brushes and scrub creams.
- If it is still possible to separate the muffler, it is recommended to regularly separate all the modules and slightly lubricate the thread.
